WE NEED YOUR HELP to Protect the Garden

Paradise on Earth Community Garden is located directly next to a site that is applying to the Brownfield Program. Recent reports confirm that the soil on that site is contaminated with substances such as lead, arsenic, petroleum byproducts, and chemicals from past industrial use. Once excavation begins, contaminated dust could travel into our garden if the cleanup is not handled safely.

We are asking the state to require the strongest possible safety measures to protect our babies, families, elders, and the food we grow here.

Our Core Values

Community

The Baby Meetup offers a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment within a gated community garden. On average we see about 15 families each week. Caregivers from across the Bronx attend meetups to laugh, network, learn, and grow while creating beautiful memories. (10450, 10451, 10455, 10456, 10459, 10460, 10461, 10467, and 10473).

Shared Resources

Our weekly "free table" offers gently used clothes, shoes, and toys, creating a space for our community to share resources and support one another. We also exchange unused formula, baby food, diapers, baby gear, and adult clothing.

Well Being

At The Baby Meetup, children and caregivers can plant, care for, and harvest food. Babies get to enjoy immersive nature experiences, such as exploring the soil and plants. We also partner with another local community garden to offer fresh, Bronx-grown, organic produce.

Education & Resources

We connect families with valuable resources and expert guidance, including early literacy workshops and support groups led by occupational therapists, IEP app developers, natural dye instructors, music and movement specialists, indoor gardening instructors, and baby/parent meditation guides and more.
